hrmm... i don't know what a philosopher is, but yea, wouldn't Buddha count? i'm Buddhist and yea, i "think" i have a pretty good idea of what a philosopher is.

Buddha said:

"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense."

His is a philosophy that everyone should philosophize for themselves, and since I believe that religion should never keep you from common sense(blind faith scares the sh*t outta me!!), my vote's for Buddha.

Can someone explain to me what Taoism is, please?

Taoism is the paradoxal exist of nothing. Evil or Very Mad

There is no explaining it, the more you try to understand it the less you will. Like holding water in your hand then clenching your fist.

Read the Tao Te Ching. It's a small book said to be written by Lao Tzu himself, if he even ever existed. It changed my life more than anything else I've ever read.

Hey ask around I'm a huge Winnie the Pooh fan, to which I get no end of ribbing from my friends about. I have the Tao of Pooh, it's good but at times the author forces the issue, and feels not quite right.

The middle east IS part of asia, man.

As for Tao te ching, It's a book that has influenced me greatly. I love lao tzu's style of writing. it's very clever how he compares life to things as minute as stones and what not.

as for Ghandi and Buddha, I forgot to put them on the poll, so just vote for "other".

The what is where. I think we are strechting a bit here man. NExt time you see an Iraqi man or woman tell him that they're asian. Since Christ's influence on asian philosphy (untill very recently) is, well, nill let's just pretend that this didn't happen.

oh, my God, please stop flaming me!

I was just stating that Jesus is from the middle east, more specifically from Israel, and the middle east is part of asia. It's not part of europe, nor is it part of africa (well, some of the southern middle eastern countries are, but not israel). If you checked a map of the world, Israel is in asia; no, not near china, no, not near the more recognised asian countries... It's in WESTERN ASIA! The oriental countries aren't the only asian countries, just so you know.

So please, stop mouthing off at me just because we have different opinions. Suck it up, man; it's just a poll!

And, yes, I know I flamed you back, but I just can't stand it. Please, next time you want to argue, please do so in an educated fashion, and look at all the facts before you blatantly piss off at me.
