HLT5075SX pixels

Post by dnmann » Sun Sep 12, 2010 4:46 pm

TV is 3 years old. I have white pixels showing up at the top of the screen. It started with 3 and now is 7 after 3 days. Reading leads me to the DMD board. Is this correct and is there any way to clean, dust or repair the stuck mirrors without replacing the board?

Okay. Mine is up to 40+ spots.

I keep researching and found a site that said it was a TI chip problem and Samsung was fixing it for free.
I called 1-800-Samsung and got to a very nice woman who took the Model and Ser Num and told me that the problem would be fixed one time at no charge.
I had to describe the problem and assure her that it was all the time and not just some channels. The repair is going to be free as long as it is a chip problem. If they say it is something else, they will charge me.

I got a call from the local repair company who confirmed the address and model number. They have to get the part in and then they will send someone to fix it. I will try to update after they come by.

Bottom line. Call samsung and see what they say.
