Seemingly overnight my 67 is now dimmer than normal, almost unwatchable. I tried changing the brightness and contrast but it doesnt get much brighter. This is happening on all inputs into the TV. I noticed that before last week, i could see a white light shining onto my wall behind the TV but now that light is no longer there. I guess my question is simply if there is only 1 lamp i need to look at replacing or is there more to it than that. I am not sure how old this TV is but any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Start with a new lamp. I had a similar problem, but by cranking up contrast and brightness, I got by. Then, I got the failed lamp message and replaced it.
However, the brightness did not improve. So, I bought a new ballast and that did the trick. Like new again.

The OP does not have the correct model #. There needs to be another letter after SL, and only four numbers before the W. It's probably the HLR5667W.

				latest update
now the TV wont turn on and stay on. it chimes, lamp light blinks for a while, then resets itself. Ultimately, all 3 lights in the front flash (2 green and 1 red). The set is unplugged right now waiting for the lamp.
cross your fingers!

Don't forget to immediately reset the lamp hours.
