This is the situation:
My TV picture keeps going out and my power light starts to flash but my volume stays on.....After doing that a few time the color goes purple and i have a purple picture. What can be the issue? any help would be appriciated.

Do you hear any strange noise coming from the TV?
I recommend you to vacuum your light engine.

there is no weird noise coming from the tv. i just noticed when the picture shuts off the pwr light blinks 5 times. then i loose color but still have picture. i opened the lamp housing and blew out everything and still happening.

What do you mean by "loose color"? Just black and white or the purple picture?

the picture is dark and flickers a bit. not black and white though
