i have a WD-65735 dlp. it turns on and i have sound and everything was working fine til tonight.  i still have a picture and sound but my screen is much darker, watchable but barely.  what is the issues?  any help at all will be great.

There is a very high possibility that you just need to replace your lamp. A very common sign that you need a new lamp is when your picture is getting dimmer & dimmer, after some time only the sound remains. Another possible cause could be the ballast, but I highly doubt it, first focus on discarding the lamp by replacing it.

i was thinking it was the lamp but all the people i have talked to said i would have a red or yellow flashing light on the tv and i have had neither.  thats why im confussed.....

First of all, is your lamp older than 2 or 3 years? If yes, then it’s more than obvious that you need a new lamp, regardless if the problem is not the lamp. Plus it’s the easiest & cheapest part to replace then any other.
